Highland whisky

highland whisky map
By far the largest producing region. The Highland region stretches from the North of Glasgow all the way to the northernmost tip of the east coast and beyond. It incorporates probably the widest range of styles of malt whisky. As a result, it is difficult to make sweeping statements. It is helpful to categorise Highland single malts into four subregions; To the North there are full bodied single malts, rich and sweet in character, such as the Dalmore whiskies.
The lighter and fruity whiskies are found to the south, such as Aberfeldy, and similar drams with a touch more body are found to the East, such as Glendronach. The Western Highlands offer full body with a peaty punch, and the coast has an influence on those whiskies.

The 1975 Warehouse 6 Collection, has spent over four decades slowly maturing in a hand-selected Spanish Oloroso Sherry Butt, cask number 35834. This limited and luxurious cask has wielded just 300 bottles at 46.5%. Arran 23 year old is an incredibly rare whisky distilled in 1995, being one of the first hogsheads laid to rest at the distillery. Bottled in 2018 as a 23 year old, this was an Investors barrel. In fact Mr McBeth commissioned two barrels, following on from this, he sold one back to the distillery due to demand of the liquid running low. He chose to bottle half of the second hogshead, which has allowed us to gain a few bottles. This means you have a chance to own a piece of history.
Securely encased in a hand-blown Glencairn Crystal decanter within an exquisite case fitted with a unique opening mechanism, featuring two rose gold metal buttons on the sides. Accompanied with glasses decorated with solid copper bands, a solid copper stopper and a numbered certificate detailing the story of the whisky. Stitched and debossed details on the leather wrap adds to the elegance. Protected in a secure material bag for transit and deliver, the 1975 Warehouse 6 Collection offers the ultimate in luxury.
